August Birthdays

On Saturday, August 9th, we all got together to celebrate the birthdays in the month of August. There are actually 5 birthdays in August in the group of friends: Sandra, Cuong, Paul, Marc, and Dan (cheater, he’s really July 31st).
The plan was to get together in Brea at the Yard House for dinner. We all met up around 5 o’clock since we had a large party of about 20 people. Although long, we had a very nice dinner. Even with dinner, appetizers and drinks, we were pleased to hear that it would only come out to $40 per person.

Following dinner, we headed a few doors down to the Improv.

We were originally supposed to see D.L Hughley, but since he was a good friend of Bernie Mac, he cancelled the show. Instead, we saw 3 different comedians. The first comedian was on stage for about 15 minutes or so and was actually pretty darn funny. The second guy had apparently been on Last Comic Standing, Eddie Ifft. He was pretty funny two. His bit was probably about 20-25 minutes long. Lastly, the headliner came out to do his piece. His name was Jamie Kaler. He thought he was on a roll, so he was probably up there for about 30-45 minutes. After the show, we all agreed that the first two guys were funnier than the actual headliner. Nevertheless, it’s always great to be able to go out and have a good laugh! Now I’ve been looking into going to another comedy show.
